Wow, what a fabulous day spent at Eastwell Manor for the wedding of Mike and Lucy.  We were blessed with bright blue skies and sunshine on the morning of this crisp November day and were greeted with smiles and excitement by our Bride Lucy and her girls.  Bridal preparations were in full swing and after finishing touches to all the girls’ makeup and hair Lucy slipped into her absolutely gorgeous dress from Isabella Grace Bridal.

After shooting her dads’ wonderful reaction to seeing his girl on her big day, we popped down to the bar where Mike and the rest of his boys were looking very smart in their suits from The Grooms Room in Colchester.

They braved the sunny but chilly outside for some shots on the beautiful sweeping staircase at the rear of Eastwell and headed back into the bar in high spirits to greet guests and take their seats for Lucy’s arrival at the end of the aisle.

The ceremony was beautiful but I could see out of the lead windows of the ceremony room that the weather was soon to take a turn for the worse as clouds loomed in the distance.

Luckily we had discussed this possibility and had a plan, so immediately after the ceremony Duncan, myself and the wonderful toastmaster Jim Cattermole ushered the guests to the rear outdoor staircase for a all guest group shot and worked our way swiftly through the rest of the list previously discussed with Lucy and Mike whilst the rest of their guests warmed up inside.

Fortunately, the rain stayed at bay for the most part and we were able to capture all of the shots the couple had requested with their Family, Bridal Party as well as lots of cuddly shots with the two of them keeping each other warm against the elements!  We still had lots of time to mingle with their guests, taking requests or just pure candid shots during their drinks reception.

Speeches were heartfelt and beautiful and accompanied a wonderful meal prepared by Eastwell Manor – I can highly recommend the Sticky Toffee Pudding!!

We were hoping to shoot an evening shot outdoors but the weather had other ideas, thankfully Eastwell Manor’s architecture incorporates a beautiful entrance porchway which we utilised instead.  As the day turned into night and we left the couple partying the night away with their guests to the sound of their band Urban Soul Sensation and DJ Simon Webb.

We are grateful and lucky enough to be one of Eastwells recommended suppliers and to have been chosen by Lucy and Mike to be a part of their beautiful wedding day.  Thank you for having us along with guys, we had a fab day celebrating with you!!  xxxx
