“The Orangery is a multi-award-winning waterside wedding venue in Kent, with its own private lake and tumbling waterfall. Located in the heart of Maidstone, you won’t believe your eyes when you walk through its wrought iron gates into nine acres of landscaped gardens. The Orangery is exclusively yours for your wedding. You can enjoy a choice of three stunning ceremony locations, from the elegant gazebo on the lawn or the woodland Lapa overlooking the lake, to the magnificent art-deco inspired garden room”.
Amie and Matthew are honestly some of the most genuinely lovely people we have had the pleasure to meet.
On my arrival at The Wisteria Suite for girls prep, I was made to feel so welcome by all of the girls and especially by Amies lovely Mum. The hair and makeup team were super chilled and everything was running to time and plan. Amie looked amazing in her dress – complete with pockets – I can think of nothing more perfect than a dress with pockets!!
Meanwhile in the gardens Matthew and his family had gathered and were also all in excellent spirits and excited about the day ahead.
The couple were to be married in the beautiful Lapa and the weather was certainly on their side as Amie, her Dad, her Bridesmaids and I took a walk around the grounds to where Matthew was waiting. One of my favourite moments from their day was the one where Matthew saw Amie for the first time. You could literally see the love he had for her as she approached, and likewise Amie to Matthew.
The ceremony was punctuated by laughter and smiles – and they both could not keep their eyes off of each other. And just when you thought it couldn’t feel any more special, Amies brother sang a special song for them – his voice was perfect!
After the Ceremony drinks and conversation flowed and we spent time shooting our mix of candid and requested formal groupings with the couple, followed by some time with their mates (Bridesmaids, Groomsmen etc) and then some time just with the two of them – which was such a good laugh. I think we giggled all the way round the grounds which made Duncan and I’s job infinitely easier as everyone was so comfy with each other.
The after dinner drinks on the patio provided lots of candid opportunities. We had also made sure everyone knew we were there for them too (with Amie and Matts approval) and so we were kept wonderfully busy meeting new people and capturing their happiness on Amie and Matts special day.
Amie and Matt, thank you for choosing Duncan and I to be a part of your wonderful, emotional, and fun, big day – we loved every minute!
